 New Toyota SUV

The Toyota RAV4 SUV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market with a hybrid petrol engine. In India, this SUV can be imported under 2500 unit quota.

Toyota is preparing to introduce the new SUV Toyota RAV4 in the Indian market. Reports have claimed that it will be launched in mid-2021. The company will import a limited number of Toyota RAV4 hybrid SUVs in India. The move will help Toyota expand its SUV range and boost hybrid drive technology.

Dimension of RAV 4

The fifth-generation RAV4 SUV is based on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. In the Indian market, Toyota's new SUV will compete directly with the Honda CR-V and the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross. The Toyota RAV4 has a length of 4600mm, width 1855mm, height 1685mm and wheelbase 2690mm.

Engine Specification

The Toyota RAV4 coming to the Indian market will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain. It is expected to get a 218 bhp power 2.5-liter petrol engine with hybrid system. In the international markets, Toyota's SUV is available in several engine options, including 2.0-liter petrol, 2.5-liter petrol and 2.5-liter petrol-hybrid engines.

The report states that RAV4 can be imported under 2500 unit quota in India, which does not require homologation. This helps in bringing down the cost of the new product to the showroom and reduces its cost. The Toyota RAV4 is expected to be priced around Rs 60 lakh.

Toyota's new sub-compact SUV coming soon

On the other hand, Toyota is preparing to introduce a new sub-compact SUV in the Indian market soon. The new SUV, named Toyota Urban Cruiser, is based on the Maruti Brezza.
