Maruti Suzuki is about to launch several new cars in India in the next two years. Apart from the Jimny, XL 5 and the new mid-size SUV, a new 800 cc and an electric car are also included. Apart from this, the company can also offer diesel engine option again in its big vehicles. These claims have been made in a new report.
Maruti Suzuki is working on several new cars for the Indian market. The new report claimed that the company will introduce three great models in India in the next two years, including two SUVs and a utility vehicle style-hatchback car.
XL 5
A new mid-size SUV and a utility-vehicle style hatchback car named XL5. The XL5 will basically be based on the Wagon R, which has been seen many times during testing. It is expected to get seats in three lines. Reports say that it will be sold from Maruti's premium dealership Nexa.
Jimny
Talking about the off-roader SUV Jimny, earlier reports have said that the upcoming Jimny in India will be a 5-door model and will have a longer wheelbase. This 5-door model can be launched in the market as the new Maruti Suzuki Gypsy. In the market, it will compete with Mahindra Thar.
The Indian model of the Jimny SUV is expected to get a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which generates 103bhp power and 138Nm torque. There will be 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox options with it. This off-roader SUV will get Suzuki's advanced all-grip 4 × 4 system.
New mid-size SUV in Creta-Seltos collision
According to reports, Maruti Suzuki's new mid-size SUV will be based on Toyota's DNGA platform, which has been used in Toyota's compact SUV Raize. This new model is expected to be launched in the first half of the year 2022. Its direct competition in the market will be Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. This mid-size SUV and 5-door Jimny will also be sold from Maruti's premium dealership Nexa.
Preparing to bring an electric and a 800 cc engine car
Apart from these three new cars, Maruti is also working on a new 800 cc car, which can replace the Alto. Apart from this, the company is also going to bring an electric car to the Indian market. On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a petrol model of its crossover SUV S-Cross in August.
