Most of car in market are just known for its power and durabuility like Mahindra Thar, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu D max 4×4 and many more. People like us who want thrill do mad things trying to take car on every mountain , enter in desert or drifting on snow buy these type of cars. The SUV equipped with 4WD, 4×4 or All wheel Drive technology are little more expesive then simple 2WD car and maintenance cost is also higher. So think befor buying......
What is 4WD, 4×4 ?
The 4WD, 4×4 are two terms which are most commonly used by lot of friends, travellers, youtubers. What does actually it means, these both are the same but the All wheel drive is completely different from both of these terms first discuss about it. In 4WD, 4×4 an exrta button or rotatory given on dashboard to activate this 4WD, 4×4 modes.
When and Where We have to activate these modes ?
In 4WD, 4×4 after activation power deliveried by engine became double, like this if our car engine generates 200 hp on normal modes in 4WD, 4×4 it converted into 400 hp that is too much power. Wait Wait Wait before moving forward I have to tell you this we did't not activate these modes on simple road or not on highway to just get more power or car run fast these modes did't work like that.
Where To use :- These 4WD, 4×4 modes are provide to come out of critical situation like you car stuck in mud or in snow or we want to do rock climibing or in tag of war 😂 . I tell you why generally 4WD, 4×4 car work as 2 Wheel drive while driving on simple roads or on highway , if we activate it on highway or on raod all the wheels get power and it became dangerous.

What is All Wheel Drive ?
All wheel drive is completely different from 4WD, 4×4. In AWD mode we did't control when to activate this mode or when not, we all listen about AI a small part of this tech used in AWD technology. A chip is inserted inside car which take feed back from sensor and distrubute power according to that situation. Generally all 4 tyres have power in AWD on simple road or on highway or anywhere else.
If rear tyre stuck in mud then more power given to them, on turning left or right power reduces from one side and given to other side. Basically it controls every things on its own, we don't have to worry when to activate or when we don't.

This is biggest question which one in more expensive or which one has higest maintainace cost. The AWD system is more complicated than the 4WD, 4×4 system, so answer was given AWD is more expensive in both terms maintenance and pricing of car.
Which one is more Powerfull 4WD, 4×4 or AWD ?
In 4WD, 4×4 the power became double when we activate these modes. In AWD the AI decide which tyre need more power and it did't increase the power, it just distribute the power.
Which car has 4WD, 4×4 or AWD in India ?

So finally after a lot of thing we discused, if you travell to different places where you need more powerfull car then definately go for 4WD, 4×4 otherwise don't buy it you just carry more weight on car. AWD system also suitable for critical situation or for fun or let you out from mud, snow but it doesn't have power to match with 4WD, 4×4 . If you did't not go a lot for travel outside or you don't need carry weight on car for city or highway drive you must go for AWD.
