About New XUV 500
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced the prices of XUV500 automatic variants with BS6 engine on its website. The BS6 Mahindra XUV500 AT Range has an initial ex-showroom price in Delhi of Rs 16.07 lakh for the W7 variant.
After this, the ex-showroom price of the W9 variant is Rs. 17.78 lakh and the top model of the XUV500, the W11-O- is priced at Rs. 19.30 lakh. Compared to the manual variants, the price of automatic variants is up to Rs 1.23 lakh which depends on the variants. The XUV500 was discontinued in April this year due to changes in BS6 standards, which is now offered with a 6-speed torque converter transmission.
Engine Specifications
The automatic transmission derived from the iSine comes with a creep function, which makes it much easier to drive on urban roads. The SUV comes with a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine that produces 153 Bhp of power and 360 Nm of peak torque.
The company has equipped this engine with a 6-speed gearbox. The manual and automatic variants of the car have the same features, including electric sunroof, electric adjustable driver seat, Apple CarPlay with touchscreen infotainment system and many more features like Android Auto, push-button start / stop, vehicle telematics.
Manual and Automatic Transmission
Mahindra Automotive has not made any cosmetic changes to the XUV500 automatic. The exterior of the car gets a badge to identify it, while the inside has a new gearshift knob which is different from the normal H-pattern unit.
In the Indian market, the XUV500 Automatic will compete with Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, MG Hector and Toyota Innova Crysta. The company has started bookings for the automatic variants of the XUV500, though the car is currently in the final stages of preparation and it is planned to be launched in the festive season.
