Car sales August 2020: Kia sold 10,845 cars, up 74% over last year

Kia Motors India has stated that it has sold 10,845 cars in August 2020. The company has also crossed the sales figure of 1 lakh units of Seltos in less than a year. The company also said that it sold 10,655 units of Seltos in August 2020. With a steady increase in demand, Kia Motors India reported a 74 percent year-on-year increase in sales compared to 6,236 units sold last year. 

Seltos was launched in August last year and was the first month of sales in the country for the company. Kia has also stated that within just 1 year of the sale commencing in India, it has succeeded in gaining about 6 percent share in the passenger vehicle market with only two cars - the Seltos and Carnival.

Apart from Seltos, Kia also sells Carnival MPVs in India.

The company's Managing Director and CEO Kukhyun Shim said, "Indian customers are welcoming to Kia Motors as we have become the fastest selling automaker in India, reaching over 1 lakh sales in just 1 year." Is. This milestone is a great success. It gives us more confidence and also brings inspiration to build a strong cars. "

Sonet 

Kia is all set to launch the Sonnet SUV in India and has received 6,523 bookings on the first day. The company will export this subcompact SUV to more than 70 markets including Middle East and Africa, Latin America and Asia.
