Increasing Demand of Small Vehicles
The auto sector has started gaining momentum after the lockdown was relaxed. However, there is still a huge decline in vehicle sales compared to last year. Actually due to Corona, the car companies got a big shock, but now the condition seems to be improving.
After the lockdown, good demand for cars was seen in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh. If we look at the sales report of the companies, it is clear that the demand for vehicles has increased in the towns compared to the cities.
Demand for vehicles increased in towns
Sales of Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car company, also increased sharply after the lockdown. Maruti's retail in Bihar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh has gone up by 15 to 20 per cent. Apart from this, Maruti cars have also got better customer support in West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. It is important to note here that this sales increased at a time when passenger vehicles sales were down by 25 percent in the country in June. In June, only 1.7 lakh cars were sold nationwide.
Increased number of first time car buyers
Due to Covid-19, the number of customers buying cars for the first time has been increasing. Apart from this, the number of customers who are keeping extra cars in their homes is also increasing rapidly. In fact, the country's largest car company Maruti Suzuki India has said that in the Corona people want to use their own vehicle instead of traveling in public vehicles.
Expected from festive season
Maruti Suzuki said that compared to May and June, car sales have increased in the month of July, due to which the condition has improved considerably. But much depends on the festive season. The company said that how the sales will be in the festive season depends on how the corona crisis is during this period.
